How to Make Bacon in a Frying Pan
Here’s how I cook bacon on the stove in a frying pan. It’s easy and you don’t really need anything fancy. Just bacon and a frying pan. I do this for breakfast all the time. You get nice, crispy bacon, and it only takes a few minutes.

What you do
- Get your bacon out and pull the strips apart. Sometimes they stick, so just go slow.
- Put a big frying pan on the stove. Turn the heat to medium. You want it hot, but not crazy hot.
- Lay the bacon strips in the pan. Don’t overlap them. They should lay flat. Work in batches if you need to.
- Let the bacon cook. Don’t touch it for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Once the edges look brown and the bacon starts to curl, use tongs or a fork to flip each piece over.
- Cook the other side for 2 to 4 more minutes. Watch close. Bacon goes from not ready to burnt really fast.
- When it looks how you like (crispy or a little soft), take it out and put it on a plate with some paper towels. This soaks up the extra grease.
- If you want less fat, blot the top with another paper towel. That’s it! Eat while it’s still warm.
lightbulb_2 Tips
- Keep a close eye on it. Bacon burns quick if you walk away.
- If the pan gets too full of grease, pour some out (careful, it’s hot).
- For extra crispy bacon, let it go a little longer, but watch like a hawk so it doesn’t burn!
- You can save the bacon grease in a jar. I use it for eggs or to fry potatoes. Makes stuff taste awesome.
- If the bacon curls up too much, press it down with a spatula for a second.
