Easy Omelette

You want to know how to make an omelette? It’s pretty easy and only takes a few minutes. This is how I make it when I don’t want to think too much. You only need some eggs, a little milk, and whatever else you like (cheese is great).

What you do

  1. Crack 3 eggs into a bowl. Add a splash of milk (like a tablespoon). Not too much or it gets watery.
  2. Put in a bit of salt and pepper. Mix it up with a fork. Go until it looks all the same color.
  3. Put your frying pan on the stove. Turn the heat to medium. Add a little butter or oil so it doesn’t stick.
  4. When the butter melts and looks kinda bubbly, pour in the eggs.
  5. Don’t touch it at first. Let it sit for about 30 seconds.
  6. If you want cheese or ham or tomato or whatever, sprinkle it now.
  7. Take a spatula and lift one side up gently. Tilt your pan a bit so the runny stuff flows under. Do this around the pan.
  8. When the eggs look pretty set and not too runny, fold it over in half. I just use the spatula and guess. It’s not a big deal if it breaks.
  9. Let it cook like that for another 30 seconds. That’s it.
  10. Slide it onto a plate. Eat right away while it’s hot.

lightbulb_2 Tips

  • Too much milk makes it soggy. Just a splash.
  • If you don’t have butter, use oil (any kind).
  • Cheese melts best if you use shredded. I like cheddar, but honestly whatever's in the fridge works.
  • If it sticks, your pan was probably too hot or too cold or didn't have enough butter.
  • Don’t walk away. Omelettes cook fast.
  • You can throw in stuff like tomatoes, onion, even leftovers. Just chop them small so they heat up fast.
