What You Do
- Grab a frying pan and put it on the stove.
- Add about a teaspoon of butter or oil. Doesn’t need to be perfect. Turn the heat to medium so it melts and spreads across the pan.
- Crack your eggs one at a time into the pan. I usually do two but one or three is cool too — whatever you like.
- Sprinkle a little salt and pepper right on the eggs.
- Let them cook untouched for about 2-3 minutes if you like the yolks soft. If you like your yolks totally cooked, keep them on the pan for another minute or two.
- If you want, you can carefully flip the eggs over with a spatula and cook the other side for another 30 seconds. That makes them “over easy.” (up to you)
- Slide them out of the pan onto a plate. That’s it. You’re done.
Eat Up
Put them on toast. Or eat them just as they are. Works for breakfast, lunch, pretty much whenever.
lightbulb_2 Tips
- If you want the edges crispy, let the pan get hot before the eggs go in.
- Butter gives more flavor but oil works fine if you’re out or want to keep it lighter.
- Without a nonstick pan, use a little more oil/butter so your eggs don’t stick.
- You can totally add stuff. Grated cheese on top is so good. Or throw on some chopped herbs if you want to feel fancy.
- If the yolks break, don’t worry. It still tastes good. Happens to everyone.
