How to make plain black tea
- Boil some water. You want it really hot. Like just started bubbling.
- Put a black tea bag (or a spoon of loose black tea if you have it) in your favorite mug.
- Pour the hot water right over the tea. Not too slow, just normal.
- Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes. If you like it stronger, go on the longer side.
- Take out the tea bag (or use a strainer if you used loose tea).
- That’s it. Drink up. No sugar, no milk, just plain black tea.
lightbulb_2 Tips
- Taste test: After 3 minutes, take a quick sip. If it’s too weak, let it sit another minute.
- Water matters: If your tap water tastes weird, use bottled water. Tea can pick that up.
- Messy with loose tea? Use a strainer or just settle for a couple leaves at the bottom. Not a big deal.
- Don’t squeeze the tea bag or you’ll get a bitter taste.
