Sweet Bacon
Okay so this is basically American style sweet bacon. You got some bacon, you got some brown sugar, you stick it in the oven and it comes out crispy and a little sticky. Super easy and kinda wild if you’ve never tried it.

What You Do
- Set your oven to 190°C (that’s about 375°F). Wait till it’s hot.
- Grab a baking tray and put down some baking paper if you want less mess. Lay out your bacon. Keep the strips flat. They’ll shrink a bit.
- Sprinkle brown sugar right on top. Be generous if you like things really sweet. You can use maple syrup too but brown sugar works great and sticks better.
- Pop the tray in the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Check after 15 minutes because it cooks pretty fast at the end. You want it brown and a tiny bit sticky, not burned.
- Take it out. Let the bacon sit for a minute or two so the sugar can harden a bit. Grab one, try not to eat them all at once (it’s tough, I know).
lightbulb_2 Tips
- Watch the bacon at the end. The sugar can go from perfect to burned in no time.
- Thick bacon works better. Thin bacon cooks too fast and can get too crispy before the sugar melts.
- No brown sugar? A little honey or maple syrup works, but put it on before baking, not after.
- Big mess? Use baking paper or foil so you don’t have to scrub the tray later.
- It’s crazy good with pancakes or just as a snack.
